Facial Fat Grafting

What is Facial Fat Grafting?

Book Your Consultation
Facial fat grafting is one of the best ways to rejuvenate the face, provided it is done artistically. As the human face ages, not only do the skin and deeper structures stretch and descend, the face also atrophies in many locations. Popularized by some of the best plastic surgeons in the world (such as the late Dr. Bruce Connell and Dr. Timothy Marten), facial fat grafting restores facial volume in ways lifting alone cannot. The grafted fat also includes concentrated stem cells which have been found to have the potential for a regenerative effect on skin.

Fat grafting can be done in isolation, but is often done in conjunction with a facelift, eyelid surgery, or other treatments. The fat is harvested with liposuction, gently processed and thinned, and then injected with a blunt cannula in a way that generally leaves no visible facial scars whatsoever.

Many of the downsides of facial filler are avoided with fat grafting, however, there are risks with facial fat grafting that need to be understood prior to the procedure.
